Researches

Research interests

Professor Leanza research interests focus on two areas:

  1. Intervention in intercultural context, according to two themes
    • Work with community interpreters (or public service interpreters) in mental health and somatic medicine: its roles and consequences in clinical interaction.
    • The relationship to the Other in healthcare. By Other it is meant the one who is perceived as carrying a radical difference, an otherness that questions the professional skills used to interpret the signs of the environment and to conduct actions.
  1. Sleep and culture, treated according to the comparative mode between several socio-cultural contexts (Brazil, Argentina and Quebec).
