Researches

Research interests

The laboratory currently comprises a single research team, that of Professor Leanza, whose research interests focus mainly on intervention in a context of diversity, organized into two axes:

  1. Working with community interpreters (or public service interpreters) in both mental health and somatic medicine: their role, positionings and their consequences in clinical interaction.
  2. The relationship with the Other in healthcare settings. By “Other” we mean someone who is perceived as the bearer of a radical difference, an otherness that calls into question the professional skills used to interpret signs in the environment and take action.

Other themes are explored within the activities of the laboratory, such as sleep and cultures, the adaptation of psychotherapies to a heterogeneous public, representations of health and mental illness, etc.
